As we know, there are four main factors that enhance the formation of acne:

1 an excessive production of sebum;

2 keratinisation of the pilosebaceous duct,with a consequent formation of comedo;

3 colonisation of comedo due to Propioni-bacteriumacnes;

4 consequent process of inflammation also due to an excessive presence of free fatty acids and free radicals.

This is strictly connected to an excessive production of lipids by the pilosebaceous gland, influenced and controlled by the androgen hormone and by the production of free radicals (ROS).
